When you get a ink cartridge not recognized error there are 3 common causes.
The contacts on the carriage are broken, bent or dirty. or the chip on
the ink cartridge is not installed properly or is just bad. I have created this page to help you diagnose the problem. First lets look at the contacts on the carriage assembly there should be 7 pins. they should be straight and clean like in the photo . Next is the chip on the ink cartridge it need to be straight and the contacts need to be clean. On some ink cartridges the chip is just bad from the start. You can try to reset them but that usually does not work. Some ink cartridges the chip is crooked and will not make contact with the pins on the printer. I think it is a good idea to keep a chip resetter on hand and a few extra chips from old ink cartridges so you can pop the bad chip off the ink cartridge and replace it with one of your other chips that you have reset. The photos are very big and if you want to use them you must keep the INKJETPRINTERHELP.US on the photo. This means you maxpatchink, euroinkjet and the rest of you! You can order any replacement parts from compassmicro just download the parts list, find the part number you need then email them for the price. |
